Whether it’s the bar, restaurant or Biergarten – at Mendelhof, South Tyrolean traditional cooking meets convivial moments. A family-run business in its third generation, where the senior owner still stands at the grill himself and welcomes guests like friends.
From morning cappuccino to evening aperitivo – our bar is a meeting place for connoisseurs, regulars and after-work enthusiasts.
Typical South Tyrolean cuisine, freshly prepared and honestly served: dumplings, Schlutzkrapfen, onion roast beef or a classic Kaiserschmarrn – leaving nothing to be desired.
In summer, our Biergarten comes to life: under walnut trees and grapevines, the senior owner grills right among the guests. Sociable, relaxed, one of a kind.
The Mendelhof was built in 1891 and has been run by our family since 1967 – now in its third generation. Since 2019, Thomas has been at the helm, supported by his wife and the senior owner, who still grills with passion. Together, we create a place where tradition feels fresh, lively and heartfelt – never outdated.

We believe in simplicity in the kitchen and in life. In kindness that comes from the heart. In honesty on the plate and in how we treat one another. And we believe that family and friends are what make Mendelhof special – both as a team behind the scenes and as guests gathering around the table.
Our bar is a meeting place for early risers, regulars, food lovers and chatterers alike. Modern in design yet rich in history: original frescoes by A. Stolz (1931) rest within the walls, telling a piece of cultural history while life continues around them.

In our dining room, we spoil you with homemade specialties: dumplings in all variations, Schlutzkrapfen, Wiener schnitzel, onion roast beef or a sweet Kaiserschmarrn to finish. We also offer worker’s menus for a quick lunch, as well as space for family celebrations and convivial gatherings.
From April 25 to September 30, our Biergarten is open. Beneath walnut trees and grapevines, you’ll find refreshing drinks and sizzling grill classics. Best of all: the senior owner himself – a trained butcher – grills right in the heart of the Biergarten. Ribs, sausages, entrecôte, grilled vegetables – everything fresh from the grill, everything prepared with passion.
And if it rains? No problem – under the pergola and awning, it stays dry and cozy.
